Located in the Lake District between Penrith and Kendal, just 3 minutes from the M6 motorway in breathtaking scenery.
From here you can explore the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, North Pennines, Kendal, and the Scottish Borders. Cumbria and the Lake District are often referred to as 'the most beautiful corner of England'. Shap Wells is the ideal place from which to discover this 'beautiful corner'. Some of the country's most spectacular scenery and historic towns and picturesque villages can be found within an hour of the hotel. Shap Wells has extensive lounges with bar facilities, one of which, the Riverside Lounge, overlooks the River Birkbeck and fells.
The hotel has undergone a continuous programme of expansion and refurbishment over the last 40 years.

Our reputation for food is envied by other hotels in the Lake District.
